Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera Bridgesii) - Plant

The Christmas Cactus, scientifically known as Schlumbergera bridgesii, is a captivating houseplant. It is  is a popular houseplant known for its distinctive flattened stems and vibrant, pendulous flowers. Christmas cactus  is native to the cloud forests of Brazil and typically blooms in late fall to winter. Its a common choice for holiday decoration. Christmas Cactus are ideally suited for indoor cultivation, thriving in well-lit spaces.

The segmented, leaf-like stems are succulent and have serrated edges. The flowers, which can be pink, red, white, or other colors, are tubular and appear at the tips of the stems. Their low maintenance requirements and distinctive appearance make them a cherished addition to any home garden. 

Growing Requirements

Sunlight for Christmas Cactus Plant

Place your Christmas Cactus in bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch its leaves. A north or east-facing window is ideal.

Watering

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid overwatering. Reduce watering in winter after blooming.
