American Boxwood Plant (Buxus sempervirens) is an evergreen shrub that is native to the  western and southern Europe and western Asia, and is widely used as a hedge or foundation plant. It is a popular choice for formal gardens as it is easy to maintain, grows quickly, and has a dense foliage that can be clipped into a variety of shapes. It is also tolerant of a wide range of soil and light conditions, making it a great choice for many different types of gardens.

American Boxwood Plant make excellent bonsai specimens because of their dense foliage and ability to withstand pruning. To convert an American Boxwood Plant into a bonsai, begin by selecting a healthy specimen with a good structure. Prune off any dead or damaged branches, and then reduce the size of the foliage by pinching back new growth. Plant the boxwood in a shallow pot with well-draining.
