Butea monosperma, commonly known as Safed Palash, is a flowering tree native to South Asia. It is a medium-sized deciduous tree that can grow up to 15-20 meters in height. The tree is known for its beautiful bright orange-red flowers that bloom in the spring season.

Safed Palash is an important tree in Indian culture and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Its bark, flowers, and leaves have medicinal properties and are used in the treatment of various ailments such as fever, inflammation, and skin diseases. The flowers of the tree are also used to make dyes and are considered auspicious in Hindu rituals.

Apart from its cultural and medicinal significance, Butea monosperma also has ecological importance. The tree is known to be a host plant for a variety of butterfly species and provides food and shelter for birds and other animals.
