Bambusa ventricosa, also known as "buddha's belly bamboo" or "bamboo of the bellies," is a species of bamboo native to China. It is a fast-growing plant that can reach heights of up to 20 feet, with thick, woody stems and large, round internodes (the spaces between the branches).
The leaves of Bambusa ventricosa are long and narrow, with a glossy green color. The plant produces large, edible shoots that are highly prized in some cultures.
One of the most distinctive features of Buddha's Belly Bamboo is its swollen internodes, which give the plant its "buddha's belly" appearance. These swollen internodes are often used as decorative elements in gardens and landscaping, and are also used in traditional medicine.
